Holistic Resource Management
is a 501c3 nonpro?t organization dedicated to encouraging and supporting holistic management in Texas. The holistic management philosophy is simple. The best way to sustain a healthy ecosystem is to realize that every action or non-action affects the whole. Every decision should be carefully considered based on a set of guidelines designed to move toward a stated goal that includes quality of life, forms of production and the vision of a sustainable resource base far into the future. Careful biological and ?nancial planning is essential to the process, and is accompanied by monitoring changes to be sure actions are moving in the right direction.
HRM of TX offers education about:
- holism,
- the ecosystem processes,
- goal setting,
- decision-making,
- planning and monitoring,
- and creative application of all the tools available for use on the land.
Understanding and working within whole, natural ecosystems leads to:
enhancing environmental quality and the natural resource base,
sustaining the economic viability of farm operations by ?nancial planning strategies that include:
reduced inputs,
improving both livestock and wildlife health and vigor,
building drought resistance into the soil,
and enhancing the quality of life for farmers/ranchers and society as a whole.
